Teach English in Japan

      This placement program offers young adults the opportunity to teach English in Japanese public schools through paid positions. Participants work as co-teachers, collaborating with Japanese educators to develop engaging lessons and foster students’ language skills. You will be fully supported as you work in an elementary, junior high, or high school in Japan, giving you an outstanding chance to be immersed in a local community while gaining teaching experience. This program offers a rewarding way to live and work in Japan while making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people.

      The ideal participant for this position has strong English language skills, and is flexible and resilient. Applicants who are accepted will be offered a position in one of the regions of Japan. All contracts include a salary, medical insurance, and accommodations or accommodation assistance. This full-time position leaves your evenings and weekends free to enjoy the full range of Japanese life and culture!

  • Location: Varies; placement in one of the 47 prefectures of Japan
  • Length of stay: 1 year+
  • Requirements: bachelor’s degree (education preferred but not required); currently resident in Canada; holds a Canadian drivers’ license
