Costa Rica Sea Turtle Conservation

In this sea turtle conservation project, you’ll take part in the entire experience: patrolling beaches to discourage predators and theft, moving and preparing nests, assisting turtles in distress, getting baby turtles to the ocean, and helping keep records of number of turtles, sand temperatures, and other critical scientific data. You’ll also assist with critical secondary work like clearing beaches so that turtles can get in, and planting trees or aiding in infrastructure projects.

An ideal participant in this experience has a passion for animal conservation and biology, enjoys physical labor and loves being outdoors! Room and board are provided in the project dormitory with other participants, and while your weekday schedule (including nights, since that’s when turtles are active) will be busy with the project, your weekends will be typically free to experience all that Costa Rica has to offer!
